God is Faithful

Who would have thought how appropriate the phrase “embracing faith” would be today? God is showing Himself to be faithful even in the midst of these challenging economic times.

Giving to Embracing Faith remains strong for those who made commitments based on income. However, giving is weak for those who made commitments based on assets or bonuses. This comes as no surprise in light of what has happened to our
economy. We made 3-year commitments totaling $7.3 million. After one year we have received $2 million!

I am thankful that we are beginning the second year of a 3-year commitment. Hopefully by the third year our economy will look much better. Please do not be troubled if you have had to delay your giving. Let’s trust the Lord and watch Him to do the impossible!

Please know that as giving to Embracing Faith continues, giving to our Benevolence Fund remains strong. Praise the Lord we have the resources to take care of the needs of those who are struggling financially while also making room for those who are not yet here! The need to pursue relocation even in our current economy is seen by full parking lots, full classrooms, and full worship services. It is seen in the faces of the broken who come for healing. In the faces of the downtrodden who come for help. In the faces of the despairing who come for hope. May we always have room for more.

Please pray fervently for God to do the miraculous and hang on for the ride of your life!
